Leave No Trace is an internationally recognized award designed to inspire responsible use of the outdoors through research and education. It teaches people how to enjoy the outdoors responsibly.

Increasing numbers of people seek the beauty and exhilaration of outdoor recreation. However, our collective impact on the environment and its natural processes risk eroding the very thing we cherish; we see increasing amounts of litter, disturbance to vegetation, water pollution, less wildlife, disturbed livestock and the inconsiderate actions of other people. We all need to develop a national ethic that protects both natural and cultural heritage. 

TrailShadow Leave no Trace trainers are able to offer a certified one day course designed to help participants minimize the social and environmental impact of their use of the countryside. The Leave No Trace programme's Seven Principles are all positive in nature and based on sound science and you will learn them in an engaging and practical manner.
