TrailShadow is a select group of Outdoor Activity experts based in Northern Ireland dedicated to constructing and delivering DofE (President's Award) expeditions designed to excite and challenge groups. Too often, we believe, expeditions are designed around the organisational convenience of hard-pressed school or voluntary organisation staff. Corners are cut when it comes to training, routes are often pre-selected, and "canned" expedition aims are regurgitated year after year.
Award candidates are thus short-changed when it comes to getting full value from their expedition, with too great a focus on the certificate and too little on the personal benefits that come only when a team sets itself genuinely ambitious targets and, supported by top quality training, strives to achieve personal goals.
Trailshadow instructors are all qualified Mountain Leaders, some are also qualified Wilderness Paramedics, Leave-No-Trace instructors, have served in Mountain Rescue Teams, or are qualified teachers.
